The Australian Government has announced plans to expand the Small-scale Renewable Energy Scheme from 100kW to 1MW.
This means eligible commercial and industrial solar systems between 100kW and 1MW may receive an upfront STC incentive, reducing the initial installation cost by approximately 20%.

Who May Benefit?
The expanded incentive is designed to support larger commercial properties, including:
- Warehouses and factories
- Shopping centres and supermarkets
- Schools and community facilities
- Farms and agricultural businesses
- Logistics centres and commercial buildings
Proposed Commencement
The expanded scheme is proposed to commence from 1 October 2026, subject to final legislation, eligibility requirements and technical rules.
